Country Cream - famous for country accessories and country style soft furnishings

If you love country style interiors and pretty country home accessories you will have probably heard of our company, Country Cream, the premiere online source for those wanting to create a soft English country look in their homes. However, if you are a first time visitor to our site and don't already know about our company ethos and our legendary country accessories range, many of which are hand made, please read on.....

I'm Karole Howard and I started Country Cream in January 2003. I'm passionate about gorgeous fabrics and interiors (I absolutely love the distressed,  faded casual look) and wanted to provide affordable, quality home accessories that would give a lived in and loved look that would suit any interior. After years of wanting to do something in interior design and having reached a certain age I thought “If I don't do it now I never will” and I did not want to get to the point where I thought “if only”. So Country Cream was born!

It is a family run business with all members lending a ‘helping hand’ when required, even my cats have starred in the catalogue. That's Wags, our cheeky girl, above middle and you can also see her in our pet beds. Our old lady Scampi. age 14, on the left.

All of the photography and styling for the website I did myself in my own home, supported by Roy, my husband, with all the prototypes and endless cups of coffee. Roy hand makes all our joinery items along with a small family run business in Surrey, a Sheltered Workshop in the North of England and a workshop for the disadvantaged in Dorset. I paint most of the items, helped by Andrew, Dolly and Salim and all our soft furnishings and hearts are made by 4 very talented ladies, Roxanna, Ellie, Janice and Rebecca.Frankie  who runs a small business makes all our lampshades for us and Eugene is our local blacksmith and he makes heart sconces exclusively for Country Cream. Alison is a mum at home with an insatiable passion for vintage fabrics and she makes all our vintage hearts and boots and Sacha shares her passion and makes some of our monogrammed, embroidered items. Last, but not least, Wiggy the Woodturner (aka Tony) turns our wood.. So you can see that all our products get that very personal touch.

Country Cream, which is a family run business, can insure that you make your home look captivating and inviting with our beautiful range of English home accessories and soft furnishings.  If you call to place an order, or simply have a query, you will notice that we always answer the phone ourselves. As a company we like to ensure that you receive personal attention from people who care about your home as much as you do.

We have always wanted to use local talented craftspeople, Mums at home, retired people and anyone with enthusiasm and talent. Even our local blacksmith makes items for us. We strongly believe in British Made and all of our joinery items are exclusive to Country Cream. Our philosophy has finally fully been realised  we are now able to use disabled people and disadvantaged people in their local sheltered workshops to make some of our joinery items for us and we have sourced a few Scandinavian style products to add something a little different to our range. We have the perfect country accessories.

The premise of Country Cream is that you receive a very personal and friendly service. When we say "we will call you back" I promise we will, even if there is nothing to tell you.

I received my order of Clip on lampshades this morning and could not be more pleased. Normally an impatient shopper and going for the instantly available over made to order, this time I have learnt that some things are worth waiting for. Absolutely beautiful and extremely well made, they are exquisite! Now I have the push I need after much procrastinating to get that french grey paint out and overhaul those wall lights, and do my new lampshades justice!
